Drove out to Athens to check out Burrito Express after hearing good things, and it was definitely worth it. Right away the vibe felt right -- ESPN on the screens, good music, and you can tell it's a family-run spot that takes pride in what they do. The awards for best Mexican restaurant in Limestone County over the years definitely show. The salsa was fresh and really good, and I had seen a review about the quesadilla cheese pull... it lived up to it. Rice and beans were solid, and the cold Modelo in a chilled glass with fresh lime hit perfectly. Prices on the lunch menu are reasonable, which makes it an easy spot to come back to. Service was good overall. Really enjoyed it and looking forward to trying more next time.

Of all the Mexican Food Restaurants I've dined at in my lifetime, and that has been many many locations from coast to coast, Burrito Express ranks as one of my top three. There is a valid reason for Burrito Express being rated the Top Mexican Food Restaurant in Athens AL. The food is absolutely delicious, the service is exceptional. You are treated as a valued guest from the moment you enter. If we're in the area this is where we go. Locally for us, Burrito Express sets the standard. Burrito Express is truly a 10 ☆ restaurant on a 5 ☆ scale.
